I’ve split my main blog Horse Ideology up into three blogs: the original Horse Ideology which gives more personal information about my horses and what I am doing; Common Sense Horsemanship focuses on providing useful, everyday training methods and tips that the competent novice with a sane horse can do; and Common Sense Rider.
In Common Sense Rider, I’ll be posting information and exercises that any rider, English or Western, can apply to make their sessions interesting or to teach common skills to your horse. I no longer teach riding lessons, however, I’m often asked what can I do when my horse does XYZ?
Many riding concepts are very hard to convey in person, and will be even harder, but in another sense easier, through the blog. When I can I will post photos, diagrams, and video to clarify what I’m writing about. If you have questions, please be sure to post them to the blog entry that you are asking about.
Refining your riding technique can be even more difficult if an instructor is not available to you locally due to your geographic location or finances. Hopefully, here at CSR you can get some new ideas to try.
